The Greater LA EITC Campaign Partnership was founded in 1998 to raise awareness of the Earned Income Tax Credit and to increase the participation rate among Los Angeles County residents. The Campaign Partnership is led by the United Way of Greater Los Angeles in full collaboration with the County of Los Angeles, the Internal Revenue Service, the Community Development Department and the Office of the Mayor of the City of Los Angeles, Children’s Planning Council, Citibank, Children’s Defense Fund, AARP and other Los Angeles County civic and community organizations. The Partnership also supports a network of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) centers, and provides financial education classes along with access to banking and family savings programs.
As a volunteer*, you will be part of an incredible effort that brings over $1 billion into the homes of low-income working families and the Los Angeles economy. You can volunteer daytime, evenings and/or weekends. Simply complete the free IRS training online at http://www.irs.gov/app/vita/index.jsp or attend a set of the trainings listed below, then choose the location and times that you would like to volunteer.
